Straw votes are informal and are not binding; anyone can vote.
Straw votes will be taken by show of hands call.
Formal votes are used to add, modify, and remove text from the MPI
standards documents.
- There is one vote per organization, which must be present at the
meeting when the vote is taken.
- To vote, an organization must have been present at two of the last
three meetings (includng the meeting where the vote is taken).
- Votes are preceded by a formal reading by at an earlier meeting,
at which straw votes may be taken.
- Votes are taken twice, at separate meetings.
- Measures pass on simple majority.
- Formal votes will be taken by roll. If you are not present, your
organization does not vote (effectively the same as abstain).
